Veneers

From severe stains from smoking to chipped teeth caused by physical injuries there are a multitude of scenarios that can cause aesthetic issues for your smile. Before your smile starts to affect your self-confidence, there are many options that can help bring life back into your teeth. One cosmetic procedure that has been giving patients a more attractive smile is dental veneers.

Dental veneers are thin custom-designed shells made from porcelain that are bonded to the front surface of your teeth to change the color, size and shape of your smile. Veneers are designed to look just like real teeth and also boast a resilience that is similar to natural tooth enamel. They can be used to hide these common imperfections such as:

  • Discolored teeth
  • Chipped or cracked teeth
  • Uneven or worn teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Minimal crookedness or uneven teeth
  • Misshapen teeth

The veneers we select for you will match the rest of your teeth so you have a natural, even smile. Veneers are made from durable porcelain, that are also stain-resistant. And unlike dental crowns, minimal tooth preparation is required before applying the veneers. When you come in for your consultation to decide whether veneers are the right treatment for you, we will discuss your treatment goals to determine if veneers will give you the smile you want to achieve through cosmetic dentistry.

Before porcelain veneers are applied a small amount of tooth enamel must be removed, usually less than a millimeter. By removing this enamel, we make room for your veneers to properly fit and restore your smile. Once your teeth have been prepared, the next step is to bond the veneers to the teeth using a dental resin. This dental resin is light sensitive and by using a special dental laser we can harden the resin to permanently adhere the veneers to your teeth.

Veneers are a great option for many patients looking to improve the overall look of their smile without requiring more tooth preparation, as you would with other cosmetic procedures like dental crowns. Veneers make it possible to fix minor overlapping, spaces, and twists in your smile.
